A production company like Samsø Grønt is constantly challenged. We must be competitive on supply, quality and price.

Our sales strategy is to sell small batches of different excellent products, because we believe in quality over quantity. It makes great demands on the flexibility and functionality of the production system - and on careful cultivation of produce.

We have invested in high-tech robots that handle packaging of delicacy potatoes in cardboard trays one hour, and bagging Jerusalem artichokes the next. However, our staff still monitor the production process closely so that everything runs according to plan.

The fact that we can sell produce of high quality also depends on careful cultivation. Therefore growers must have a lot of knowledge, good skills, and - not least - an interest in and a desire and will to continue developing new varieties. The growers in our grower community help each other; they share knowledge and jointly develop new varieties of potatoes every year. Growers keep themselves up-to-date with the latest in cultivation of crops.
